The organizers of Slingshot, the self-billed "international festival of music, electronic art and tech," have announced the initial lineup for 2015's edition, which takes place in Athens Mar. 26–28.
True to the local festival scene's steady expansion, the list of globally acclaimed artists playing this year's Slingshot is an impressive one: LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy will headline with a DJ set, while The xx's Jamie xx, L.A. electro hotshot Nosaj Thing, avant-pop composer Holly Herndon, Argentine singer-songwriter Juana Molina and international man of mystery Omar Souleyman will all perform.
Washed Out, Reptar, Glenn Kotche, Clark, Saint Pepsi and Prince Rama are also among the first wave of artists announced. See the full list here.
In addition, the festival will revive its popular "Japan Nite," where bands from that country perform. In non-music events, a comedy night featuring stand-up Kurt Braunohler has been announced.
Early VIP passes are available via the Slingshot site. Stay tuned for artist announcements and further info.
