From now until Dec. 30, music editor Gabe Vodicka will reveal his top 10 (non-local) albums of 2015, and news editor Blake Aued (along with his 17-month-old daughter, Iris) will review each selection in response.
9. Low: Ones and Sixes
Gabe: Sparse, sure-footed Minnesota trio Low somehow got sparser and more sure-footed on its slow-growing 11th studio record. As with my No. 10 pick, any year these folks put out a new album is a good year.
Blake: If No. 8 is Cowboy Junkies and No. 7 is Red House Painters, I'm going assume I've fallen into some kind time anomaly back to my junior year of college, aka That Time I Listened to Nothing but Alt Country and Slowcore for Like a Whole Year. It was a very boring year, in retrospect.
Iris: Seems confused. Banged on the drum for a minute, then gave up and started playing with the laptop cord. One milk out of four.
