Mmmmm, chili.

Grindhouse Killer Burgers is hosting a beer dinner with Creature Comforts tomorrow (Wednesday). The tickets are $35 and get you five courses of beer and burgers. Email info@grindhouseburgers.com for more information.

'Tis the season for chili cook-offs, and Cine's Schlocktoberbest is hosting one at Creature Comforts on Saturday at 1 p.m., with entries by  Hi-Lo, Pulaski Heights BBQ, The Pine, The Branded Butcher, the Rooftop at The Georgia Theatre, South Kitchen + Bar, Trappeze, The World Famous and more. Admission includes chili and beer.

Also Saturday and also beer-related is Terrapin's Hop Harvest Festival, which gets started at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and get you tastings of Terrapin's So Fresh and So Green, Green, plus a bunch of other beers. Music, a crafty market, a souvenir glass and more are included.

Coming up on Oct. 25 at 11 a.m. is St. Philothea Greek Orthodox Church's annual Greek Food Festival, in Watkinsville. The church is taking pre-orders for spanakopita (spinach pies), tiropita (cheese pies) and pastitsio (sort of a Greek lasagna) for pickup during the festival, with the form available here. There will also be music, dancing and tours of the church. Admission is $1 (free for those under 16).

Heirloom Cafe is holding a dinner on-site at the Pastures of Rose Creek Farm, also in Watkinsville, on Oct. 26 at 5 p.m. Things get started slowly, with a reception (cocktails! snacks! music!) and a farm tour, then finish with a four-course meal in the pecan orchard. Call 706-354-7901 to make reservations. Tickets are $65.
