It’s the rare eatery that actually opens when it says it will, between contractors, health inspections and getting funding squared away. Athenians will be pleased to know, however, after some months of peering in the windows, that Zombie Coffee and Donuts is opening its branch downtown (in the former Your Pie, on Broad) next Monday, May 23.
Coming up this Saturday, May 21, Five & Ten is hosting a pig roast on its ample porch at 5 p.m., with Creature Comforts. Tickets are $50 and include family-style food (pig plus snacks) and a selection of beers. Call the restaurant at 706-546-7300 for reservations.
Athens-based small chain DePalma’s Italian Cafe is opening a location in Hamilton Mill, just off I-85, around Dacula, in approximately August (see above, though).
