Despite the Icepocalypse, new Mexican restaurant Real Paraiso is opening today in the Piggly Wiggly shopping center on North Avenue, where it replaces El Paisano.
It’s hard to say when a place advertises itself as having “real authentic Mexican food” if that means “goat tacos” or “burrito supremo,” but the Facebook page is almost entirely in Spanish, and there are some good deals running as part of the grand opening through Sunday: half-price drinks and cocktails; BOGO entrees; free cheese dip with purchase of guacamole; and a V-Day dinner for two that includes drink, choice of dip (are there any more romantic words in the English language?), two entrees, choice of desserts and mariachi music (6-9 p.m.) for $20.
