Nathalie Dupree and Wilson’s

If you’re looking for updates on what’s going in the former Wilson’s Soul Food space, sadly empty for some months now on Hull Street, check in with The World Famous on Facebook. Flagpole writer David Eduardo and bartrepreneur/musician Bain Mattox are teaming up to renovate the space and turn it into a cool, cozy music venue that will also serve some kind of food. No word yet on what the eats might be, but the folks involved are preservation-minded. Look for an opening next year.

Coming up on Thursday, Avid Bookshop has another food-oriented event, having managed to snag Nathalie Dupree and Cynthia Graubart to sign their book Mastering the Art of Southern Cooking from 4 to 5 p.m. Nathalie is, of course, well known as a Southern cook; Graubart is less of a household name, but the two have worked together for years on books and TV. The Facebook event is here.
