Cowboys in the Campfire

Former Replacements and Guns N’ Roses bassist Tommy Stinson hits Athens Thursday for the third time in as many years—most recently, he brought his Bash & Pop project to the Caledonia Lounge last September—giving local fans another chance to see and hear the legendary alt-rocker in an intimate setting. This week’s Flicker show is part of Stinson’s ongoing collaboration with guitarist Chip Roberts, which the pair has dubbed Cowboys in the Campfire, and will feature suitably twangy renditions of tunes from throughout the songwriter’s discography, set against a stripped-down instrumental backdrop of lap steel and acoustic guitar.
