Morgan Jerkins is popular on Twitter, but don’t let that fool you—she graduated from Princeton with a degree in comparative literature and speaks six languages. Her debut book, This Will Be My Undoing, an essay collection that “interweaves her incisive commentary on pop culture, feminism, black history, misogyny and racism with her own experiences to confront the very real challenges of being a black woman today,” has been compared to Roxane Gay’s bestseller Bad Feminist. At Avid’s Prince Avenue location, Jerkins will be interviewed by Flagpole contributor Rashaun Ellis, who’s tackled topics for this paper ranging from fat-shaming to polyamory.
