Benefiting the Skate Park of Athens, the Slammin’ Hot Shredder Show will raise donations for SPOA’s Phase 2 Expansion Project, which intends to build a street course at Southeast Clarke Park. The fundraiser doubles as an artist reception for a collection of 30 custom-painted decks on view in the brewery through July. Local artists were provided with used boards to decorate and repurpose into works of wall-bound art. In addition to live music by Blanko, Crunchy and Space Dungeon, the afternoon features a screening of Michael Lachowski’s video shot at a local DIY skate spot in the ’80s.
