Vapors (Lost and Forgotten)

Established painter Lisa Freeman’s latest creations are delicate assemblages of found materials densely detailed with historical references and symbols. On view in “Vapors (Lost and Forgotten),” many of the assemblages serve as tiny homages to some of the world’s darkest moments, including the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, the Night of Broken Glass and the Palestinian exodus Al-Nakba. The opening reception will also highlight woven pieces by members of the Athens Fibercraft Guild and ceramic works by members of the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation. Additional assemblages by Freeman can currently be found at three other destinations in town: “Tiny Universe” at the Gallery@Hotel Indigo, the second annual “Juried Exhibition” at ATHICA, and “Georgia Small Works” at OCAF.
