Influences: Doo-wop, glam rock, John Waters, Meat Loaf and punk.

Mahony and his gang bring a rowdy brand of foot stomping rockabilly punk fronted by melodic lead vocals. Yeah, it's an eclectic mix to be sure, but every show is fast-paced and fun. In addition to the touchstones listed above, Standard 8 drummer Smith describes his band as "a weird combination of Jerry Lee Lewis, Dead Kennedys and XTC" which seems to be rather accurate. You can hear for yourself very soon on the brand new, self-produced debut record Young Lovers mastered by local legend John Keane.
