Sea of Dogs debuted in February 2008 as the solo project of Dark Meat/Titans of Filth member Emily Armond. She has since surrounded herself with a bevy of talented ladies to help round out her folky musings. If you enjoyed Kimya Dawson's broken yet disarmingly honest numbers on the Juno soundtrack, you'll relate to Armond's charming storytelling - her songs seem to smile coyly, peeking out timidly behind her steady banjo picking. Even when the subject matter verges on somber, there is something sweet in Armond's delivery; it's just awkward enough to be adorable. Sea of Dogs will be recording as a full band for the first time this month.
