Charlie Garrett Band

If you look closely at the cover of Charlie Garrett Band’s In Time, among other things you’ll discover the Black Crowes sophomore effort, The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion, resting on a littered table. That record displayed the undeniable maturation of the Crowes, and after a strong debut it’ll be interesting to see if Garrett makes a similar ascent.  Talented players, including Matt Stoessel (Lake City), JoJo Glidewell (Modern Skirts), Eunice Kang (Azure Ray) and Carlton Owens (ex John Mayer), have all been a part of the recording process and/or live productions.  When Garrett takes risks, like on the sleepy, psych-ballad “Everything’s Blue,” listeners are rewarded.
