PPA Timeline

The leaders of the Partners for a Prosperous Athens Initiative have tied up some of the loose ends from their huge Mar. 19 town hall meeting at the Classic Center, attended by more than a thousand citizens. The 10 “OneAthens Initiatives” presented Mar. 19 will now form the basis for 10 small “implementation teams” which will each shepherd an initiative. Also, while a new group - the OneAthens Foundation - is developed, the PPA Steering Committee will remain in existence through the end of June, when another large community meeting is planned.
The timeline:
- Now through June 15
- Implementation teams develop initial program strategies, presenting them to the OneAthens Transition Team (comprised of PPA co-conveners and steering committee members).
- June 29
- The OneAthens Transition Team will recommend an initial set of implementation strategies to the community at large.
- July 1–15
- OneAthens is formed. Strategies to be passed on to convening organizations for action.
- After July 15
- Implementation teams continue working.
