In this one, perpetually shy sci-fi proofreader Charlie Baker (Jake Cullens) escapes his unfaithful wife and joins his friend Froggie (Augustine Dunn) on a trip to rural Georgia. In a local fishing lodge, Baker's bashfulness leads Froggie to announce to the other guests that Baker is unable to understand or speak English. Ignoring their "foreign guest," several of the other guests divulge weird secrets with side-splitting results.

As Jake Cullens puts it, "The Foreigner is an excellent respite from all of the sadness that has occurred in the past month. It accomplishes two of the tasks that drama was meant for; first it gives a good glimpse of the dichotomy of human nature (selfless and selfish) and second it entertains us and transports us away from reality for little while, then hopefully returns us a little wiser from the journey. Anyone familiar with Southern culture and charm will enjoy this show."

Directed by Tom Coleman, The Foreigner concludes its second week run at the Morton Theatre, Oct. 12-14.
