Carroll comments, "Moore's adaptation does new things with the story, Misery. The book is all from Paul's point of view and clearly paints Annie as the monster. The movie takes a step to humanize Annie. Moore's adaptation goes even further to make the two sides co-exist on the stage. It gives the production a choice of how monstrous Annie is or how much of a victim she is."
Misery runs Sept. 28-30 at the Athens Community Theatre.
